About Me
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Peter DiMaggio (he/him) is an award-winning actor and multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter/composer. A self-taught musician from a young age, Peter has acquired comprehensive skill and experience on piano, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, ukulele, harmonica, and even the cowbell.
Peter began his acting training at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan and then went on to receive his BFA in Acting from Boston University. He has also received a Certificate in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
As an actor, he has been working consistently on-stage in Boston at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (As You Like It, Macbeth), Actors’ Shakespeare Project (Romeo and Juliet), Wheelock Family Theatre (The Spongebob Musical - Elliot Norton Award Winner), and Sh!t-faced Shakespeare (Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream) since graduating. Peter is currently in rehearsals for Once at Hackmatack Playhouse in Berwick, ME. You can catch him this fall in a few productions in Boston (stay tuned). Other favorite stage credits include: Joan and Edgar Booth’s productions of Once (Guy) and Shakespeare in Love (Henslowe).
He has also taken part in a myriad of short film projects over the past year and a half; one of which, Shampoo (2024), picked up a win at last year’s Boston Indie Film Festival. He also leads Dissection Day (Fatale Films) which is currently making a successful national and international festival run this season.
As a composer, Peter has written original music and lyrics for multiple shows including Max’s House, a one-act musical which had its debut at The Tank NYC and just wrapped up a regional tour. He also scores for film, most recently composing original music for The Fairy House (Another Age Productions). The full soundtrack and his singer-songwriter material are available to stream on all platforms.
Peter has immense gratitude for his mentors, friends, and family for supporting him throughout his artistic journey.
